Zeger Reyers has occupied
himself with a topic more common to Dutch art than Norwegian, namely
living art. The life he works with defines space and the life span
makes the artist into a slow working sculptor of time. There is also
an element of surprise in his work that is embedded in the fusion
of form and space. There is also quite a lot of humour and irreverence
in his handling of the artworks, as displayed in the gallery on the
opening day of the exhibition at TENT. His mussel-chair is prepared,
cooked and served. This eating-of-the-artwork has art-historical predecessors,
but Zeger Reyers work also incorporates aspects of social intervention
through the act of eating.
